Stephen Curry and Andrew Wiggins combined for 58 points and the Warriors defeated the Dallas Mavericks 109-100 to take a 3-0 lead in the Western Conference Final series. The Warriors moved one win away from making the NBA Finals.
The Warriors swept Portland in the most recent West Finals they participated on and they’re hoping to get one more win Tuesday to return to the NBA Finals for the first time since 2019.
Luka Doncic put up 40 points, but he had a rough shooting night, with 13-of-45 from the field. Dallas was trailing 2-0 as they did in the series vs Phoenix in the previous round and now are down 3-0. No team has ever rallied from a 3-0 deficit in the playoffs.
Klay Thompson scored 19 with two crucial threes in the fourth quarter to put ahead the Dubs. Jalen Brunson had 20 and Spencer Dinwiddie added 26 off the bench for the Dallas Mavericks, who had a rough shooting night.
Dinwiddie’s 3-pointers got Dallas within five points with 1:15 remaining, but Jordan Poole answered just inside the final minute to put the game away. The Warriors shot 46 percent from the field and 34 percent from beyron the arc.
The Mavericks saw Reggie Bullock and Maxi Kleber missing all of their 12 threes, and Dallas shot just 40 percent from the field and 28 percent from deep. The Mavs will hope to avoid the sweep with a win in Game 4 Tuesday night.
