The Sacramento Kings have agreed to an one-year deal with Kent Bazemore, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Bazemore joins the Kings after spending the previous season with the Los Angeles Lakers. He didn’t have a significant role with the 17-time NBA champions, averaging just 14 minutes per game, his lowest since his second season in the NBA back in 2013.

Sacramento expects Bazemore to offer decent solutions as a 3-and-D player, coming off the bench as part of the second unit.

The Kings were very active in offseason, making many changes to their roster. They hired defensive specialist Mike Brown as the new head coach, while inking deals with Malik Monk and Kevin Huerter.

The franchise has its sights set on returning to the NBA playoffs after 16 years. The last time they played in the postseason was in 2006.
