Warriors will try to finish the series vs Dallas Tuesday night without veteran forward Otto Porter Jr. Golden State ruled out their valued role player with foot soreness.
After three games in the Western Conference Finals, the Warriors are up 3-0 against the Dallas Mavericks.
Golden State would rather not put Porter’s future availability in danger. If the Mavs can stay alive in the series and win Gm4, there will be a Game 5 in The Chase Center Thursday.
If the Warriors sweep the Western Conference Finals, the veteran forward will have over a week to nurture his injury.
Golden State is already missing Andre Iguodala and Gary Payton II with injuries they suffered during the postseason.
Porter left Game 3 midway through the second quarter and was later ruled out due to left foot soreness.
The veteran forward has been an important part of Golden State’s rotation during the playoffs. He’s averaging 5.5 points and 4.1 rebounds this postseason.
The Warriors will try to cover for his shooting and defensive versatility. If the Warriors finished the series vs Dallas tonight then the will advance to the NBA Finals.
This will be their first appearance since 2019. The NBA Finals are scheduled to start on June 2.
