Seven players scored in double-digits and the Golden State Warriors cruised past the Dallas Mavericks 87-112 in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals. Stephen Curry led Golden State with 21 points, 12 rebounds and four assists despite having a bad shooting night.

The Warriors’ superstar shot only 3 of 9 from deep as the Warriors made just 10 of their 29 attempts from the three-point line. That did not stop Jordan Poole from scoring 19 points, while Andrew Wiggins also had 19.

As for the Mavericks, they fought for one half before the Warriors took over. Doncic finished with just 20 points —his lowest scoring total in the 2022 postseason— on 6-of-18 shooting. The Mavs superstar had 18 of his 20 points in the first half.

The Warriors hit Doncic with several different schemes in the defensive end, but, Andrew Wiggins was the cornerstone of their plan. He was also the player that spurt an 18-28 first quarter lead with 10 points.

Aside from Curry, Poole and Wiggins, Klay Thompson added 15, while Draymond Green, Kevon Looney and Otto Porter Jr. contributed 10 points each. Jalen Brunson scored 14 points but missed all five of his 3s as the Mavs finished with 22.9 percent from deep.

The two teams will face each other again on Friday for Game 2 of the series at Chase Center. That was the first game back from Health and Safety protocols for the Warriors’ head coach Steve Kerr.
