Stephen Curry had 32 points and the Golden State Warriors beat the Dallas Mavericks 117-126 to take a 2-0 lead in the Western Conference Finals. The Warriors appeared to losing touch with the game in the first half after going down 19.
They came back in the second half after outscoring the Mavs 45-68 in the third and fourth quarter. They kept Dallas to 13 points in the third as they set the base to make their comeback and win the game.
The Mavericks saw Luka Doncic putting up another masterpiece with 42 points, eight assists and five rebounds. However, they shot the ball horrendously in the third quarter and that’s what sparked Golden State.
Doncic scored 18 of his 42 points in the first quarter. His 3-pointer with 13 seconds before halftime put Dallas up 72-58 at the break and mount his total to 24 points. Doncic shot 12 for 23 and shined in a game that Golden State shot 56 percent from the field.
Jordan Poole added 23 points shooting 7-of-10 and making seven of his seven free throw attempts. Curry added eight rebounds and five assists. Jalen Brunson had 31 points for the Mavericks, who dropped the first two games of the WCF series.
The Warriors scored 43 points in the fourth quarter, maintaining the title of the best offensive team in the NBA postseason. The run in the fourth was sparked by Warriors’ bench as Otto Porter Jr., Kevon Looney and Jordan Poole led the team.
Now, the series revert to Dallas for Game 3 and 4. The Mavs will hope to repeat history and protect their home court, as they did in the series against Phoenix. Game 3 is on Sunday night.
