Golden State Warriors listed forward Andrew Wiggins as questionable ahead of Gm3 vs the Dallas Mavericks Sunday night. Steve Kerr explained that he wasn’t aware Wiggins was experiencing soreness until the PR staff told him, per ESPN’s Malika Andrews.
Wiggins appeared to have tweaked his ankle late in the third quarter of Game 2 after landing awkwardly going up for a shot attempt. Wiggins has been an important part of the Warriors defensive plan against Luka Doncic in the Western Conference Finals.
He’s also a contributed greatly in the offensive side averaging 17.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists through the first two games. Head coach Steve Kerr stated Wiggins is expected to play Sunday night.
“I expect him to play,” coach Steve Kerr said Saturday evening. “It’s just standard procedure when somebody gets an injury, you have to report it. Technically he’s questionable, but we expect him to play.”
In Game 1, Wiggins held Doncic to 5-of-11 shooting. The Slovenian superstar bounced back the next game dropping 42 points, but, the Warriors were able to return from down 19 and win the game.
The Warriors are up 2-0 in the series. Game 3 is on Sunday night in Dallas.
