Paul George has entered the final stage of his recovery and could make his return as early as Tuesday vs the Utah Jazz.
Tyronn Lue, the head coach of the Los Angeles Clippers, didn’t reveal an exact date for the All-Star forward’s return.
“I don’t know. We’ve just got to see how today’s practice goes and see how he’s feeling and then just go from there, whatever the medical staff seems to think is ideal, that’s what we’ll do,” Lue told reporters, via Tomer Azarly of Clutchpoints.
Paul George practiced with the team on Sunday, taking part in 5-on-5 basketball. The veteran forward has been ramping up over the past few weeks and is targeting a return this week.

“It would be huge. It would be huge and like I always say hope is stronger than fear so to have the hope that he could come back would be great for our team especially the job our team has done all season long of just playing out of position, doing more than they would normally do on a night-to-night basis.
But this team has done it so right now we are dragging a little bit and to get a guy like Paul George back would definitely help us out,” Lue added.
Paul George has appeared in just 26 games this season. He has been out with an elbow injury since December 22. He is averaging 24.7 points, 7.1 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 2.0 steals, shooting at 42.1%.
The Clippers currently are eighth in the West, at 36-39, and on a five-game losing streak. However, it is not likely they will drop to ninth or 10th, with just few games left until the end of the regular season.
This week, the Clippers are playing the Jazz (home, Tuesday), Chicago Bulls (road, Thursday), Milwaukee Bucks (road, Friday) and New Orleans Pelicans (home, Sunday).
