After going down 2-0 in the series vs Miami, the Atlanta Hawks needed a spark from Trae Young and co. in Game 3 to remain alive. The Hawks had that spark in the second half of Game 3 110-111 win.

Atlanta allowed the Heat to make 21-0 run and take a 16-point lead in the third quarter. The Hawks bounced back and dig themselves out of the hole to reach one bucket away from the win.

Trae Young was there able to make a tough winning floater with 4.4 seconds remaining in the game. Jimmy Butler had his chance to shine, but, his three-pointer fell short at the buzzer. Young did not have any doubt that the floater will go in.

“I didn’t have any doubt that if I shot it, I wasn’t going to make it,” Young told reporters after the game. ”I was able to get to the basket and get my floater.”

Young finished with 24 points, eight assists, four rebounds, and just three turnovers after committing a career-high 10 in Game 2.

The Hawks were able to keep Butler less productive in the offensive end as he had 20 points after putting a career-high 45 points in Game 2.

Nate McMillan talked about his decision to leave his offense flow in the team’s last shot of the game that put the Hawks up by one.

“There was no way I was calling a timeout,” McMillan told reporters. “It was really a perfect situation for us, getting back in transition and he saw a lane and he attacked.

He didn’t settle. He attacked the basket and was able to finish that. So that play we’re going to take, really, just about every time.”
