The 29-year-old guard spent the previous season with the Denver Nuggets and reunites with new Minnesota president Tim Connelly, who was the Nuggets’ president until the end of the 2021/22 season.
Austin Rivers averaged six points in 22 minutes of action for Denver last season. He now joins a Timberwolves squad that has emerged as a title contender following the Rudy Gobert trade from the Utah Jazz.
Minnesota sent five players and four first-round picks to the Jazz in exchange for the French big man. In addition, they signed Kye Anderson to a two-year, $18M deal in free agency.
