Los Angeles Lakers are one of the NBA teams looking for a head coach this offseason after firing Frank Vogel at the end of the season. Mark Jackson and Terry Stotts were the latest candidates to be interviewed for the “purple and gold” coaching vacancy.
Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium reported Friday that Jackson completed an interview with the team for their head coach vacancy. Jackson coached the Golden State Warriors for three seasons.
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Lakers also interviewed former Portland Trail Blazers coach Terry Stotts earlier this week. The Lakers’ search has been slow-moving so far, but it seems to be picking up a bit.

Stotts, 64, coached the Blazers for nine seasons from 2012-21, leading the team to eight consecutive playoff appearances and winning four playoff series. He has been a free agent since last summer.
The LA franchise is coming off a tough season under Frank Vogel, who was fired at the end of season after leading the Lakers to a disappointing 33-49 record. Despite the struggles, the team front office hope to redeem themselves next year, led by a healthy duo of AD and LeBron.
With questions around the roster remaining, the team hope to make the right choice to rejuvenate their hopes for a championship run next season.
