Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown made the difference for the Boston Celtics in the emphatic 110-88 road win over the Golden State Warriors.
Tatum and Brown combined for 52 points (26 each) for the winners, who led by as many as 24 points in the contest.
On the other hand, Jordan Poole led all scorers with 29 points, while Klay Thompson added 18 for the losing squad.
The Celtics took control from the opening tip and never looked back. They relied on their defense and led by 16 at halftime (48-32). Golden State never recovered after that and suffered a heavy home loss.
This was the sixth win in the last seven games for the Celtics, who improved to 42-28 and overcame the Chicago Bulls. Boston is now fourth in the East.
On the other hand, the Warriors saw their four-game winning streak come to an end and dropped to 47-23. They are still third in the West, though.
Golden State will wait to see whether Stephen Curry will miss time because of his injury. Curry left the game early, due to a left foot soreness, and didn’t return.
Head coach Steve Kerr told reporters, including Hedgeout.net, that Curry is having an MRI and the team is waiting for the results.
Golden State will remain home to host the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday. For their part, the Celtics will continue their road trip and will face the Sacramento Kings on Friday.
