Phoenix Suns rallied past the Los Angeles Lakers (110-121) and set a franchise record for most regular season wins.
The Suns snapped a two-game losing skid and improved to 63-16 in the standings. Phoenix has clinched the top spot in the West and the best record in the NBA. As a result, they will have the home-court advantage for as long as they advance through the postseason.
The 63 victories mark a new franchise record for the Suns, who overcame the 1992-93 and 2004-05 teams that had won 62 games.
Phoenix also swept the season series vs the Lakers (4-0) and officially eliminated the 17-time NBA champions from the play-in tournament.
The league leaders are expected to rest their key players in the remaining three games. Phoenix is getting ready for the start of the playoffs on April 16, aiming for a second straight trip to the NBA Finals.
