Phoenix Suns are undoubtedly the best team in the NBA after clinching the top seed in the NBA with the 140-130 win over the Denver Nuggets.
In the anniversary of his 70-point performance, Devin Booker put up another masterpiece in his first game alonsgide Chris Paul, who missed his Suns’ last 15.
Paul had been sidelined with a fracture in his right thumb, prior to the All-Star break. The veteran guard said that the Suns have a special group in place.
”We have a special team, it’s that simple,” Paul said, via NBA.com. ”But just being back for the warmup stuff, the pregame stuff, you know what I mean? There’s nothing like being part of this team. I’m just happy that I could get back.”
The Suns trailed most of the game, but they finished the fourth quarter with a 36-24 run to achieve their 60th win of the season.
Booker was unstoppable with his on and off ball movement against Denver and the reigning MVP Nikola Jokic. Phoenix guard reminded NBA peers how he becomes unstoppable with a healthy CP3 alongside him.
Paul and Booker have teamed up for 1275 minutes this season putting up a net rating of plus-11. The Suns are scoring 117.5 points per 100 possessions during those minutes.
Paul returned to the lineup roughly five weeks after he broke his right thumb in a game against Houston just before the All-Star break. He ended up playing 29 minutes, while recording 17 points, 13 assists, a steal and a block.
Booker had a brilliant contest with 49 points on 16-of-25 shooting. He also added 10 assists, four rebounds and three steals.
”Sixty wins is something I never even thought of, to be completely honest,” Booker said after the game.
