Steve Kerr wants to see the Golden State Warriors return to the high standards they were playing at defensively early in the season.
Golden State has the fifth best defense in the league, conceding 105.7 points. However, the Warriors need to improve on that end of the floor ahead of the playoffs.
“Still looking for defense. That’s the whole thing. Can we be the team that we were the first few months of the season? I think we can, but we have been searching for that in recent weeks without much success.
That’s the main thing I’m looking for is just the energy and continuity. We look like a different team defensively.
The good thing is, we know we have it in us because we watched it for the first 40-50 games of the year, but the challenge is getting back to being that team. That’s the goal,” Steve Kerr told the media, including Hedgeout.net, on Wednesday.

Especially in March, Golden State struggled defensively, conceding an average of 113,6 points in 16 games. Steve Kerr saw the Warriors lose 11 of these 16 games and drop to fourth in the West, tied with third-placed Dallas Mavericks (48-29).
With five games remaining in the regular season, the Warriors will seek to make adjustments defensively in order to be ready for the playoffs on April 16.
On Saturday, Golden State hosts the Utah Jazz and knows defense will be key to win the game and snap a four-game losing streak.
