Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr praised his team for its third quarter performance that put away the Game 2 of the Finals vs Boston. Kerr explained Steph Curry was the motor behind the Warriors’ great play in the third quarter.

“Steph was breathtaking in that quarter. Not just the shot making but the defensive effort. He just doesn’t get enough credit for his level of conditioning, physicality and defense,” Kerr said on Curry.

Curry was unstoppable in both ends of the ball Sunday night, especially in the third quarter, when he went off for 14 of his 29 points. Curry had also a similar outburst in the first quarter of Gm 1 setting the table for the Warriors’ dominance that lasted three quarters.

In Gm 1, the Celtics responded and took the game after going down 15. In Game 2, the Warriors were better prepared and took advantage of a 35-14 run in the third quarter to cruise to a blowout victory.

“People go at him to try to wear him down because they know how important he is to us offensively, and it’s pretty dramatic the difference in Steph’s strength and physicality in his body now than from eight years ago when I first got here.

So the guy’s amazing. He just keeps working on his game, his strength, his conditioning year after year, and it’s a pleasure to watch him play every night,” Kerr said on Curry’s incredible physical condition.

The series now are going to Boston for Gm 3 and 4 of the NBA Finals. The Warriors will need to continue playing through Curry hoping to open up more opportunities for other players in the offensive end.

Klay Thompson was once again off shooting the ball and Jordan Poole had a rough night until the start of the fourth quarter, where Steve Kerr kept both players in the starting five to get them going.

Poole finished with 17 points after scoring just nine in Gm 1. Klay Thompson had a rough shooting night with an abysmal 4-of-19 going for 11 points in Game 2 blowout victory. Game 3 on Wednesday night is set to be an interesting one.
