Steve Kerr opened up about the several days of rest the Golden State Warriors have ahead of the NBA Finals.
After closing out the series vs the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday (4-1), the Warriors will not play again until June 2. And for the veteran coach, this break is ‘meaningful’.
“Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said his players got a “rare” two days off to “decompress” and will have a formal practice tomorrow.
Kerr called the break “meaningful”. Kerr said not having to get on a plane until June 6 is “huge” for the Warriors,” Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated reported.
Golden State has the home-court advantage whoever they end up facing between the Boston Celtics and the Miami Heat.
The Warriors have a better record than Boston, while they have the tiebreaker vs the Heat despite finishing with identical records (53-29). That means they will only travel on the road before Game 3 on June 8.
