Stephen Curry converted eight free throws over the final 45.7 seconds on the way to 32 points to lead the Warriors to a 101-98 win over the Grizzlies. Golden State took a 3-1 lead in the WC semifinal series, and they need one more to progress to the Conference Finals.
Curry also dished out eight assists as Golden State rallied to win without Kerr after he tested positive for COVID-19. Mike Brown, who officially became the Kings’ head coach for next season, stepped up in his place.
The Warriors got the first lead of the night after Curry made two free throws with 45.7 seconds to go and gave the Warriors a 94-93 advantage. Golden State scored 39 points in the fourth as they outscored Memphis 39-29.
Andrew Wiggins had 17 points and 10 rebounds and Thompson scored 14 points despite missing all seven of his 3-point attempts, who did not have to face Ja Morant. The Grizzlies superstar remained out with knee soreness.
Tyus Jones had 19 points, six rebounds and five assists for Memphis, while Dillon Brooks returned from a one-game suspension and finished with 12 points on 5 for 19 shooting along with eight assists and five rebounds.
The Warriors had 11 first half turnovers, but committed just five after the intermission to mount a comeback in the fourth quarter. The Warriors will need one more win to advance to the Western Conference Finals for the first time since 2019.
Game 5 is on Wednesday in Memphis.
