Stephen Curry optimistic he will play in Game 1 of the playoffs

Stephen Curry spoke with the media on Sunday and addressed his recovery from a foot injury he sustained last week.

The superstar of the Golden State Warriors suffered a sprained left foot ligament in the game vs the Boston Celtics on Wednesday. As the three-time NBA champions announced, Curry will be re-evaluated in two weeks.

“I’ve been told… you want to not rush the beginning phase of the healing because that is where you get the most progress.

When you put your shoe on and get back on the court, you aren’t dealing with any crazy soreness or anything.

This is one, if you push it too soon, it can linger. Yeah, we got enough time for that. I am an optimist though,” Stephen Curry said.

Without Curry in the lineup, the Warriors lost to the San Antonio Spurs at home (110-108) and fell to 47-24. Golden State is on a two-game skid and 1.5 games below second-placed Memphis Grizzlies (49-23).

The Warriors need a few more wins to secure the home-court advantage in the first round of the playoffs, where they could face the Minnesota Timberwolves or the Denver Nuggets. At the moment, both franchises are tied with a 42-30 record.

Golden State will provide an update on the superstar guard’s status in late March and will hope Stephen Curry will be ready to play in Game 1 of the playoffs on April 16.
