Stephen Curry was incredible in Gm 4 of the Finals between the Golden State Warriors and the Boston Celtics. In a great matchup against one of the best defenses in the postseason, Curry erupted for 43 to send the series back to San Francisco at 2-2.
The Warriors will have the chance to take the lead at home due to Curry’s masterful performance. The superstar guard dissected the Cs’ defense piece by piece shooting 14 of 26 from the field and making seven threes.
He also was the third player to have double-digits (10) rebounds, alongside Andrew Wiggins (16) and Kevon Looney (11). Curry was asked about his performance after the game but focused more on his teammates.
“Proud of everybody in terms of our physicality, our focus, perseverance throughout the game. 2-2 is way better than 3-1 going home. Job well done tonight,” the Warriors’ superstar stated.
Klay Thompson was ecstatic about Curry’s performance during Gm4. Curry’s “Splash Brother” called his teammate performance the no.1 in postseason career considering the stakes and the “must-win” situation the Warriors had to face.
“Probably No. 1. I mean, this was nearly a must-win game, and to go out there and shoot as efficiently as he did, and grab 10 rebounds and they were attacking him on defense; I mean, his conditioning is second-to-none in this league. Steph played incredible,” Thompson said.
Curry avoided rating his performance, but talked about his demeanor coming into Gm4 down 2-1 against a great team like the Boston Celtics. The Warriors’ superstar said the focus that they entered the game was vital to get the victory.
“I think it helped us just get settled into the game because, obviously, our experience, you can want it so bad, you kind of get in your own way a little bit and everybody feels a little bit of pressure, and it can go the opposite way,” Davidson product said.
“I wanted to try to leverage that in a positive direction for us to start the game. I can’t rate my performances, though. Just win the game.”
