Steph Curry destroys ASG record for most three-pointers in historic performance

Steph Curry added another historic feat to his resume after exploding for 50 points and winning All-Star MVP honors in Team LeBron’s 163-160 victory over Team Durant.

Curry was on a tear Sunday night, making 16 threes, which is an ASG record. The Warriors’ superstar guard also set new marks for the most 3-pointers in an All-Star quarter (6) and half (8).

Curry made his homecoming to Ohio a memorable one, as he put up a show few people will forget. He was also motivated by charity, winning the MVP award in the process.

Per ESPN’s Nick DePaula, the Warriors’ superstar was set to donate $1,000 for every point he scored, $3,000 for every 3 he made, and $10,000 if he won All-Star MVP honors, all to the Cleveland Metro School District.

Earlier this season, Curry passed Ray Allen for the most three-pointers in the history of the NBA. Curry was also honored as a member of the NBA 75th Anniversary Team at halftime.

He finished the ASG contest with 50 points and came within two points of Anthony Davis’ All-Star record of 52 points. He also had five rebounds and two assists, shooting an astonishing 56 percent from the field and 59.3 percent from beyond the arc.

”This guy is from a different planet. He literally has an automatic sniper connected to his arm, and when he lets it go, not only himself, but everybody on the floor, in the stands, on TV, on their phones, whatever you are watching on, you think it’s going in every time,” Lebron James said. ”Nine times out of 10 and sometimes 10 times out of 10, it does go in.”

James who played in front of his crowd in Cleveland, finished the game with 24 points, eight assists and six rebounds.
