Philadelphia 76ers had a blowout in store after losing their last three contests. The Sixers bounced back with a 114-144 rout against the Charlotte Hornets.
Joel Embiid had 29 points on 12-of-16 shooting, while Tobias Harris finsihed with 23 points and a season-high nine 3-point attempts. Tyrese Maxey scored 19 points, while James Harden had 12 points, 13 assists and eight rebounds.
After a balanced first half, the Sixers went in to score 45 points during the third quarter. They outscored Charlotte 27-45 during that stint, while the Sixers tied their franchise record of 21 3-pointers, last set on March 1, 2020.
The Sixers set season highs in points (144), three-pointers made (21) and assists in the game bouncing back from a shocking defeat at the hands of the Detroit Pistons.
Harden was used more as a distributor, and he allowed Embiid to score 19 points in the first half to take a 58-53 lead. The 76ers presented seven players in double figures and was able to play their bench for the majority of the fourth quarter.
The Sixers improved to 47-30 and they need one more win to clinch their place in the postseason. They will have the chance to do that in Monday’s game against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
As for the visitors, Bridges had 20 points for Charlotte, which struggled from 3-point territory by making just 6 of 18 attempts. The Hornets had an atrocious defensive effort in the second half allowing 86 points just in 24 minutes of play.
