Sixers’ Doc Rivers reacts to close seeding race in East

Philadelphia 76ers head coach Doc Rivers addressed the close seeding race in the Eastern Conference.

At the moment, the top four teams in the East are battling for the first place in the standings ahead of the playoffs. Only two games separate top-seeded Miami Heat (49-28) and fourth-placed Boston Celtics (47-30).

For his part, the veteran coach only wants to see his team build some momentum and continue getting better.

“For us, it’s just trying to get better, and all the other stuff will happen. I look at Milwaukee and Phoenix, in particular, and I think those two teams are ready

If the playoffs started now, those two teams know exactly who they are, they know exactly what to do, they’ve been through the fire. No one else has,” Doc Rivers told media, including Hedgeout.net, prior to the game vs the Bucks on Tuesday.

Philadelphia head coach also noted he doesn’t pay attention to the seeding battle, as he knows all games will be difficult in the postseason.

“This is going to be a tough sledding for everyone. We all see it. The East is stacked. Who do you want to play? None of them, they’re all good. It’s just the way it is, and you just have to be ready to play any of them,” Doc Rivers added.

Doc Rivers and the Sixers are now heading to Detroit to take on the Pistons on Thursday. Following its home loss to the Milwaukee Bucks (47-28), Philadelphia dropped to third on the table (46-29) and has now lost two straight.
