Shane Larkin was literally unstoppable in Gm3 of the Turkish BSL finals as Efes downed Fenerbahce 103-92 to remain alive in the series. Larkin went off for 37 points, including 14 in the fourth quarter of Game 3.
Efes hit 19 threes in a high-scoring shootout with Larkin hitting nine of them in 14 tries. Vasilije Micic added five more as Fenerbahce tried to remain in the game despite the fact that Efes’ guard duo went off.
Also hot from downtown, Fenerbahce ended up with 15 of 29, but fell short of completing the sweep. Efes finished the first half with a small advantage over Fener after Larkin hit a three-pointer to put his team ahead 52-50.
Anadolu Efes continued its impressive play in the second half and made an 11-3 at the start of the third quarter, building a 13-point lead with 5 minutes to go. Fener answered the run to cut the deficit to seven at the end of the quarter (76-69).
Vasilije Micic registered 29 points and seven assists. Tibor Pleiss added 15 points as Efes was able to keep the advantage until the end of the game and force a Gm4 in the finals’ series.
Pierria Henry was the leading scorer with 21 points for the visiting side. Fener still needs one more win to bring the title home being up 2-1 in the Finals. On the other side, Efes will need to win three consecutive games to conclude another successful season.
