Sacramento Kings are considered themselves to be in a win now situation. After trading away Tyrese Haliburton to the Pacers for Domantas Sabonis, the Kings are expected to build a roster ready to make the playoffs.

As a result, NBA executives believe the Kings will trade the no.4 pick of the 2022 NBA Draft, per Mike Scotto of HoopsHype.

According to Scotto, there is the same expectation for the Portland Trail Blazers with Portland’s franchise cornerstone Damian Lillard being at 32.

Sacramento has an opportunity to find generational talent in a youth like Jaden Ivy, Shadeon Sharpe, and Keegan Murray.

On the flip side of the coin, those young talents can be the bait for other key franchises who are looking to move up in the draft.

Keegan Murray would make more sense for the Kings if they decide to keep their place in the lottery, as they have De’Aaron Fox and Davion Mitchell as their backcourt duo.

What McNair will do with the pick remains to be seen, as the league is about one month away from the Draft.

The Kings emphasized they are hoping to put an end to their playoff drought next season, and their front office has made moves in that direction since the trade deadline.
