Utah Jazz big man Rudy Gobert said there is no beef between him and Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green.
During the All-Star Game last month, Green appeared on NBA on TNT. When the hosts of the show compared him to Rudy Gobert and Dikembe Mutombo as former DPOY, the three-time NBA champion said there should be no comparison between him and Gobert.
“You keep mentioning me in the same sentence with him. We are not alike,” Green said, via Clutchpoints.
In an interview with Taylor Rooks of Bleacher Report, Gobert shared his thoughts on the issue. The big man of the Jazz stated there is no beef between him and Green and added he respects the veteran forward.
“Our relationship is what he’s saying about me ‘coz I’m not talking about him, When I see him in person he’s always real nice and respectful. As long as that stay the same, you know.
Every time I talk about Draymond and anybody else, I show respect. If these guys want to disrespect me it’s their choice. And I take that as respect. I don’t have a beef with anyone,” Rudy Gobert noted.
The two stars are among the candidates for the Defensive Player of The Year award, which Gobert has won three times over the last four seasons.
Rudy Gobert and Draymond Green will face each other one last time in the regular season on April 2. It is also likely the two will collide in the playoffs should they make a deep postseason run in the West.
