The New Orleans Pelicans endured the comeback of the San Antonio Spurs and won the play-in game (103-113).
The Spurs trailed by as many as 21 points, but turned things around in the fourth and cut the deficit to six (91-97). The Pelicans stood tall, though, and made some clutch plays in crunch time to seal the deal.
CJ McCollum led the way for the winners, with 32 points, on 12/23 shooting. Jonas Valanciunas posted an impressive double-double of 22 points (9/14 shooting) and 14 rebounds. Brandon Ingram added 27 points (on 11/19 shooting) for the Pelicans.
On the other hand, six Spurs players scored in double digits, with Devin Vassell having 23 points and 7 three-pointers.
Thanks to its win, New Orleans will now take on the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday. The winner will claim the 8th spot in the West and will go on to play the Phoenix Suns in the first round.
For their part, the San Antonio Spurs got eliminated and will miss the postseason for a second straight year.
