New Orleans Pelicans received the worst possible news on Wednesday as CJ McCollum has entered the NBA Health and Safety protocols.
The Pelicans have also sidelined Brandon Ingram for at least a week due to a right hamstring strain.

That’s a huge blow for New Orleans, who are at 27-39 and currently sit in 10th seed in the Western Conference standings. They are 1.5 games ahead of the Portland Trail Blazers for the final spot of the play-in tournament.
McCollum is coming off back-to-back 32-point efforts on Tuesday against the Memphis Grizzlies and on Wednesday against the Orlando Magic.
The Pelicans lost both games, being on a three-game losing skid after starting strong in the first few weeks of the final part of the season.
After both Ingram and his co-star went down, at least for the next few games, the Pelicans signed Ty Wallace to a 10-day contract to add depth to the guard position.

The Pelicans acquired the veteran guard from the Trail Blazers as part of a seven-player trade in February. In 12 games with his new squad, the shooting guard has averaged a team-best 27.1 points and 6.7 assists per contest.
