Paul George reportedly enters health and safety protocols ahead of play-in vs Pelicans

Los Angeles Clippers‘ fans have received shocking news as Paul George entered NBA’s health and safety protocols, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarwoski.

As a result, the Clippers’ superstar will have to remain out for the Friday’s  “win or go home” contest against the New Orleans Pelicans.

George made his return to the court March 29 against the Utah Jazz after suffering a UCL injury in December.

The veteran forward got meaningful minutes in the final part of the season returning to form quickly in a season that Kawhi Leonard did not receive any play time recovering from a partially torn ACL.

Despite the injury struggles on their two superstars the Clippers were able to finish the season with a 42-40 record and enter the play-in tournament.

They lost the first chance to advance to the playoffs Tuesday, when the no.7 Minnesota Timberwolves punched their tickets for the first round of the playoffs after defeating the Clippers Tuesday.

George went for 33 points in that game, but, his impressive performance was not enough to push his team in the playoffs.

In 31 regular-season games, PG averaged 24.3 points, 6.9 rebounds, 5.7 assists, 2.9 three-pointers made and 2.2 steals.

With neither George nor Leonard available, Clippers head coach Ty Lue will have to lean heavily on Reggie Jackson and Norman Powell to produce offensively.

The Pelicans are entering Friday’s game with three players (Ingram, McCollum, Valanciunas) capable of producing big numbers in the offensive side of the floor.
