Paul George could play in the postseason

Los Angeles Clippers superstar Paul George could be back for the playoffs after showing remarkable progress.

Clippers head coach Ty Lue is hoping to see any of his injured players returning before the start of the playoffs. However, he stated that any player, who is ready to compete, will be available for the postseason.

“He’s feeling better,” Ty Lue said before practice Monday, via ESPN’s Ohm Youngmisuk. “That is part of his rehab, having minimal contact with the coaches and trying to get his wind and just kind of see how he feels.”

The Clippers’ star guard has not played since Dec. 22 and needed several months to let the elbow rest and recover. The Clippers are 8th in the Western Conference playing without George and Kawhi Leonard.

Norman Powell is also sidelined after three games with the LA franchise. Powell was slated to participate in shooting drills Monday, but he’s not been cleared for contact training.

The Clippers (36-37) play the seventh-place Nuggets (42-30) on Tuesday. Ty Lue and co. could face Denver in the play-in tournament considering that nine games remaining for the end of the regular season.

A potential George return will be a huge boost for the Clippers chances to make the postseason and compete in the playoffs.

“To hit the playoffs going at 100, from zero to 100, that is pretty tough. But if the medical guys say they are cleared and they are able to do that, that is totally up to them,” Lue stated.
