Pat Riley addressed the possibility of adding additional firepower next season. The Miami Heat president called the team season a success but the franchise should be proactive in adding more talent if there’s chance for that.

“I thought we had an absolutely great year. A tremendous story that was developing. I thought we had a head that we really could be proud of,” Riley told reporters on the past season.

In the question of the possibility of running it back with the same team, the Heat president claimed the franchise always have to find ways to improve as a team. He also spoke about the free agency of Tyler Herro and PJ Tucker.

The Heat will have to possibly pay Herro this summer, as he’s entering the final season of his rookie contract. Tucker, who was a vital part of the team’s run this past season, will be a free agent.

“Even if we ran it back we would have a good team, but we have to be proactive in improving the team” Riley said.

“You can always think about running it back. But is that going to be good enough to win a championship. I don’t know what’s been said,” the Miami Heat president continued.

He then addressed the possibility of adding another top-tier player alongside Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo- the two Miami Heat All-Stars.

“I think we call realize that you can always use more. Especially when you’ve gone through the season and you analyze the result and it wasn’t as good as you thought it should be.”
