Olympiacos triumphed over Panathinaikos and went on to win the 2022 Greek Cup Final.
The “Reds” came back from a 12-point deficit in the third quarter and claimed the trophy. Panathinaikos led by 12 midway through the third (59-47) and kept its lead after 30 minutes (67-58).
In the fourth quarter, though, Olympiacos relied on its defense and made a wild comeback. The “Reds” outscored their opponents 6-23 and clinched the win. Panathinaikos scored only from the free-throw line in the last 10 minutes of the game. The “Greens” came up short in the fourth, didn’t make a field goal and, consequently, lost the game.

MVP: Tyler Dorsey led the way for the winners with 21 points and was named the MVP of the Final. Sasha Vezenkov added 18 points and 12 rebounds. Shaquielle McKissik and Tomas Walkup made the difference on both ends in the fourth quarter.
Key to victory: Olympiacos’ defense. The “Reds” conceded just six points in the fourth, which helped them win the game. After trailing by 12 (59-47), Olympiacos outscored Panathinaikos 14-34 and went on to claim the trophy.
This was the third time the two Greek giants faced each other this season. Olympiacos lead the series 2-1. The two teams will collide again in three weeks in the EuroLeague (March 17). This was the 10th Greek Cup title for Olympiacos and the first one since 2011.
