Denver Nuggets president of basketball operation will meet with the Minnesota Timberwolves owner Glenn Taylor as reported by Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Connelly has been the head of basketball operations with the Nuggets since 2013, when he replaced current Raptors GM Masai Ujiri.
Connelly was the mastermind behind the current Denver roster headlined by Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr.
Connelly has discussed the job extensively with Timberwolves minority owners Marc Lore and Alex Rodriguez in the past week.
Woj reports that Connelly has also remained in regular contact with Nuggets governor Josh Kroenke and the Minnesota received permission to discuss the job with Connelly.
The Wolves have had plenty of turnover in their front office. They fired Gersson Rosas right before training camp began last fall in response to mounting tension around him.
His assistant, Sachin Gupta was promoted to be president of basketball operations. The T-Wolves were opt to re-evaluate the front office situation this summer.
Minnesota is coming off a successful season making the playoffs for the second time in the last 18 years. They lost to Memphis in six games in the opening-round series.
The Timberwolves are considered a resurgent force in the Western Conference. Minnesota has a young core of talent, including 2020 No. 1 pick Anthony Edwards.
