Denver Nuggets are optimistic that Jamal Murray could make his long-awaited return by the playoffs.
Sam Amick of The Athletic reports there is a ‘strong sense’ from the Nuggets that Murray could make his season debut in mid-April.
Jamal Murray has been out of action since last April, after tearing his left ACL. He is progressing well with his recovery and Denver expects him to return to practice soon.
In a radio interview earlier this month, Denver president Tim Connelly said Murray could return in the ‘not too distant future’.
The superstar guard averaged a career-high 21.2 points and a career-best 40.8 3-point shooting percentage last season.

Similarly, Michael Porter Jr. is also set for his return to action next month. Per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Nuggets believe Porter will be ready to play ‘sometime in March’.
The young forward underwent his third back surgery in late November, but is now set to return to practice.
The Nuggets are expected to avoid the play-in tournament and directly qualify for the playoffs. They currently are sixth in the West, at 36-25, tied with fifth-placed Dallas Mavericks.
