“Yeah, that’s what you love about those two [DeMarcus Cousins and JaMychal Green]. They bring, not just skill and talent, but they bring size, physicality and an edge.
That felt like a playoff game. That was like a game you’re gonna see late in the playoffs where every possession matters and physicality matters. To have two guys with experience that both JaMychal and DeMarcus have, and not afraid to mix it up. That’s invaluable for us.
Especially when you surround them with, we have Bryn [Forbes], we have Bones [Hyland], we have Austin [Rivers]. You have two big guys like that, it’s tremendous to have that on your team,” Malone said.
DeMarcus Cousins had eight points, (3/6 shooting, 2/5 from beyond the arc), four assists and three rebounds in 15 minutes vs the Sixers. In 18 games for the Nuggets, he is averaging 8.7 points and 6.1 boards.
The veteran center has offered significant help as the backup of Nikola Jokic and it seems he will have an even bigger role moving forward.
Denver is currently sixth in the standings, at 41-28. Up next, they are facing the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday, aiming to come closer to the 5th-placed Dallas Mavericks.
