Michael Malone, the head coach of the Denver Nuggets, gave an update on the condition of superstar guard Jamal Murray.
Murray has been out of action since April 2021 when he suffered a torn left ACL. The young guard missed the entire 2021/22 season, but is now ready for his return.
On Tuesday, Murray took part in a 5-on-5 workout and impressed coach Malone and the Nuggets’ staff.
“He was mobile, agile, hostile, versatile. He looked comfortable. He looked confident. That’s the most important thing,” Malone said, via Mike Singer of The Denver Post.
Jamal Murray averaged 21.2 points, 4.8 assists, and 4 rebounds in 48 games in the 2020/21 season. With him back, the Nuggets are expected to return to title contention next year.
Malone said that yesterday’s 5-on-5 work from Jamal Murray was the most intense he’s played since tearing his ACL last April. “He was mobile, agile, hostile, versatile. … He looked comfortable. He looked confident. That’s the most important thing.” — Mike Singer (@msinger) July 6, 2022
