Nikola Jokic reaches milestone in Nuggets’ latest win

Nikola Jokic will end up being one of the best players that put on the Denver Nuggets’ uniform. For now, he’s enjoying another MVP-type of season adding a few milestones on the way.

During his 29-point performance against the Wizards, Jokic reached the 10,000 mark in points through just 516 NBA games. He also entered a special club of players with his 10,000+ points, 5,000+ rebounds and 3,000 assists in his career.

The only player to have such numbers in fewer games was Boston Celtics legend and NBA Hall of Famer Larry Bird. Bird needed 515 games for his first 10,000 points, 5,000 rebounds, and 3,000 assists.

The reigning MVP ranks fourth overall in the Nuggets‘ all-time scoring list. He trails only Alex English, Dan Issel, and Carmelo Anthony. Jokic finished the 127-109 win in Washington with 29 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists in just 26 minutes.

He had a TS% of 85 percent as he remained in the bench for the whole fourth quarter. The Nuggets improved to 42-28 being sixth in the Western Conference.

Jokic is among the favorites to win the MVP award again this season, leading an injury-crippled Nuggets to the postseason.

The Nuggets are set to wrap up a three-game road trip facing the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday. They are 6-2 in the last eight games, while Jokic is unstoppable, especially during the last few weeks.

The Serbian superstar is averaging 30.1 points, 12.0 rebounds and 7.7 assists per, on 62.8/60.0/87.0 shooting splits in the last three contests.
