Nikola Jokic on the triumph over Sixers: “It felt like a playoff game”

Nikola Jokic compared the battle with the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday night to a playoff game.

The Nuggets came back from 19 down in the first half and won the game by four (114-110). Denver outscored Philadelphia 33-22 in the fourth quarter to seal the deal.

“It feels like (a playoff game). Especially the last quarter. The beginning was like every other, but the last quarter, the fans get into it, and it becomes physical.

It’s like every other game. When it’s a close game, and every possession matters. At a time, it feels like it’s a playoff game,” Nikola Jokic told the media, including Hedgeout.net, afterwards.

Denver (41-28) and Philadelphia (41-26) split the season series (1-1). The two franchises can face each other again only in the Finals.

This also was the first meeting between Joel Embiid and Nikola Jokic since December 10, 2019. The Serbian center flirted with the triple-double with 22 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists.

For his part, Embiid posted 34 points (11/20 shooting) and nine boards. The superstar of the Sixers didn’t want to focus on the battle with Jokic. He called the collision with the reigning MVP ‘just a reguar season game’.

The two superstars are the grand favorites for the MVP award and their face-off was much anticipated. Nikola Jokic is averaging 26.1 points, 13.8 rebounds and 8.1 assists this season. Meanwhile, Joel Embiid has averages of 29.8 points, 11.3 boards and 4.4 assists.
