Back-to-back NBA MVP Nikola Jokic has agreed to a supermax contract extension with the Denver Nuggets. According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the extension is for five years, worth a total of $264M.

This is the richest deal in NBA history and the Serbian center will have a player option in the final year of his contract (2027/28 season), worth $60M.

Nikola Jokic was the best player of the Nuggets last season, averaging 27.1 points, 13.8 rebounds and 7.9 assists. However, he could prevent Denver from suffering an early playoff exit.

Next season, Denver aims to return to title contention, with Jokic as the undisputed leader and star guard Jamal Murry back healthy.
