Nets still have no timetable for Ben Simmons’ season debut

The Brooklyn Nets still don’t know when Ben Simmons will make his season debut with the franchise.

The former All-Star hasn’t played at all this season. Because of his conflict with the front office of the Philadelphia 76ers, Bem Simmons didn’t play until the February 10 trade deadline.

The Sixers then traded him to the Nets, along with Seth Curry, Andre Drummond and draft picks, in exchange for James Harden and Paul Millsap.

Although it seemed Ben Simmons wouldn’t need much time to return to form, a back injury may cost him the season.

Simmons has started working out with the Nets, but there is still no timetable for his first appearance in Brooklyn uniform.

“Clearly, we’d love to have Ben play for us. We will hopefully get him back. At the same time, every day, we can’t put our feet in the air because we don’t know when or if it’s going to happen,” Nets’ head coach Steve Nash said, via The Athletic’s Joe Vardon.

The Nets have secured their spot in the play-in tournament, which will take place on April 12-15. Brooklyn will need a win to make it to the playoffs, which start on April 16. And, by that time, Ben Simmons may be available for his debut.
