Ben Simmons will not play in the remaining regular season games and the play-in tournament.
This is what Brooklyn Nets head coach Steve Nash told reporters on Monday. The former All-Star is progressing well with his recovery from a back injury he sustained a few weeks ago. However, as Nash noted, he will not be ready to play until mid-April.
Should the Nets advance to the playoffs through the play-in tournament, Ben Simmons could suit up for the first round.

The young guard hasn’t played at all this season. Following his dispute with the Philadelphia 76ers’ front office, he sat out all games until February 10 when the Sixers traded him to the Nets in exchange for James Harden.
The plan for Simmons was to make his season debut by the end of March. Yet, the back injury he sustained was a setback and eventually ruled him out for the regular season.
The Nets have secured their spot in the play-in tournament, which will take place on April 12-15. Brooklyn (10th, 40-38) will need a win to make it to the playoffs, which start on April 16.
