LeBron James is closing in to become the second-best scorer in the NBA. He reminds us that by dropping a season-high 56 points in the Lakers’ 116-124 win over the Warriors.
James was unstoppable against Steph Curry and Co. King James had 56 points on 19-31 shooting, 10 rebounds and three assists to help the Lakers put an end to a four-game losing streak.
“For us to get a win like this in front of our home fans, they deserve it,” LeBron told reporters said. “We haven’t been playing like much of anything as of late, so it was good to get a win in front of them.”
The Lakers ended up being away from the expectations they want them to be among the favorites to win the title. The Lakers, who are 28-35 after the victory, are barely hang in a play-in spot.
They had four consecutive uninspiring losses to the Clippers, New Orleans and Dallas. LeBron came out firing on all cylinders, Saturday night.

”He’s obviously such a handful coming downhill, and then when he gets his 3-point shot going like he did in the second half, makes it pretty difficult to try and guard him,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said after the game. ”He was brilliant tonight. LeBron was amazing.”
The Lakers were able to create some distance in the final 3:29 of the game. They held on to the win the rest of the way, with Carmelo Anthony hitting a corner-three with less than a minute remaining in the game.
As for LeBron James he became the first player to score 50+ points before turning 21 and after turning 35, per StatMuse. He also become the oldest player, in NBA History, to record 50+ points and 10+ rebounds in a game. The previous one was Michael Jordan.
It was the 13th 50-point game of his career, which is seventh all time, and his teams have won the past 11 games he has reached the 50-point mark.

The Warriors are still away from the first-half-of the-season self as they won two of their last eight games. Golden State dropped to third in the West after its loss, and the Dubs are at 43-21, one game behind the Memphis Grizzlies.
The win brought the Lakers to 28-35, leaving them in ninth place in the Western Conference. However, they are still one game ahead of New Orleans and three games up from the No. 11 Portland Trail Blazers.
