NBA Top Stories: Embiid, Sixers hand Bulls 5th straight loss

Joel Embiid was unstoppable once again and the Philadelphia 76ers dominated the Chicago Bulls at home (106-121).

The NBA MVP candidate went for a game-high 43 points (15/27 shooting) and 14 rebounds on 36 minutes on the floor.

James Harden flirted with the triple double (17 points, 14 assists, eight boards) in another all-around performance. Philadelphia remained undefeated with the former MVP on the floor (5-0).

On the other hand, DeMar DeRozan (23 points) and Zach LaVine (24 points) combined for 47 points for the losing squad.

Philadelphia took control after the opening quarter, led by as many as 17 points and went on to clinch the win. The Sixers returned to the winning track (40-24), following their road loss to the Miami Heat on Saturday (82-99).

For their part, the Bulls continued their free fall as of late. Chicago dropped its fifth straight, but remained fourth in the East (39-26). However, they are still winless vs the Top 3 seeds in both conferences (0-14).

The Bulls will seek to snap their five-game losing streak on Wednesday in the road game vs the Detroit Pistons. Chicago will play 10 of its next 12 games on the road.

On the contrary, the Sixers will remain at home and will host the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday. This will be the first time the two powerhouses will clash after their blockbuster trade.

Back on February 10, the Nets traded Harden and Paul Millsap to the Sixers in exchange for Seth Curry, Andre Drummond, Ben Simmons and future draft picks. Simmons will travel with the team to Philadelphia, but will not play vs his former team.

The Bulls are now 0-14 against the top 3 seeds in both conferences. Yikes… pic.twitter.com/VTUYluj1NY — Legion Hoops (@LegionHoops) March 8, 2022
