NBA stops business activity in Russia in the wake of war in Ukraine

NBA has suspended its activities in Russia in the wake of the invasion in Ukraine. According to a spokesperson, the league stopped all business activity in Russian soil.

That includes video distribution and its broadcasting partners in the country, per Mark J. Burns. The NBA became the latest basketball organization to issue sanctions because of the war in Ukraine.

NBA spokesperson tells @sbjsbd: "We have suspended our business activities in Russia.” That includes activities related to content distribution such as digital and broadcast, per a source. There is no timeline on when business activities will resume in Russia, this person said. — Mark J. Burns (@markjburns88) March 3, 2022

FIBA has suspended all Russian teams, while the EuroLeague has also suspended CSKA Moscow, Zenit, UNICS and Lokomotiv Kuban from its competitions.

There are no Russian players in the league now, but, there are two players from Ukraine playing in the Sacramento Kings and the Toronto Raptors. respectively.
