NBA rumors: Wizards could emerge as potential suitors for Kevin Durant

The Washington Wizards could emerge as a potential suitor for Kevin Durant, per Sam Amico of Hoopswire. Since Durant requested a trade, the Suns and the Heat emerged as the top-2 destinations for the Nets’ superstar.

However, the Wizards could be a dark horse in the Durant’s sweepstakes, per Amico. It would be tough for the Wizards to make a deal since they may not have the assets for it, but it would still be cool to see them get Durant.

“Several sources even have told Hoops Wire to keep an eye on the Wizards, who could make a major push. Durant is a DC product, too. He may not be upset about playing at home alongside Bradley Beal,” Amico wrote.

Durant is a Washington native, as he went to National Christian Academy for a couple of his high school years before finishing at Montrose Christian, just outside DC. It remains to be seen if Washington can step up to the plate with a major offer.

As of now, several teams cannot put together a satisfying offer for the Nets. According to multiple reports, Brooklyn is in no rush to agree to a deal and their demands include an All-Star player, a rising star and multiple first-round picks and pick swaps.
