NBA rumors: Rockets seeking to trade Eric Gordon

The Houston Rockets are seeking to trade another veteran player after sending Christian Wood to the Dallas Mavericks.

As Marc Stein of Substack reports, this player is Eric Gordon, who still has two years and $40M left on his current contract.

“After trading Christian Wood to Dallas, now Houston is trying to find a deal for Eric Gordon, with the Rockets widely known to be seeking a first-round pick for Gordon like they managed in the Wood deal,” Stein reports.

Houston has already started its rebuilding process and moving its veteran players in search for first-round draft picks looks like a priority for the franchise.

Nets do not expect to match offer for Nic Claxton

The Brooklyn Nets are reportedly unlikely to match a standard mid-level offer to Nic Claxton, who is set to become a restricted free agent. Houston Chronicle’s Dan Feigen listed Claxton as one of the potential free-agent targets for the Rockets.

The Rockets parted ways with Christian Wood, and they will need to cover a need at the center position. Claxton posted decent numbers averaging 8.7 points and 5.6 rebounds through 47 games last season.

Zach LaVine reportedly agreed to 5-year max deal with Chicago

NBA reporter Marc Stein also referred to Zach LaVine in his latest piece to support the notion that Chicago and LaVine have agreed to terms. The Bulls reportedly informing interested teams that Zach LaVine will not be available this summer.

They are working towards giving him the full 5-year max, which expected to be around at $212 million, assuming LaVine doesn’t take a pay cut. Once LaVine pen a new deal, the Bulls will start the process of building around the All-Star.
