The Los Angeles Lakers are working on improving their roster and pursued a multi-player deal with the Indiana Pacers. This is what Dave McMenamin of ESPN reports, noting that the 17-time NBA champions’ attempt was unsuccessful.
“Meanwhile, behind the scenes, the Lakers have also talked to the Indiana Pacers about a multiplayer deal. Now, I’m told that those talks basically went nowhere.
The Pacers didn’t believe LA gave a good of an enough offer to continue having that conversation,” McMenamin said, via Brad Sullivan of Lakers Daily. However, he didn’t specify on the players that would get involved in that deal.
The legendary franchise has its sights set on reaching an agreement with the Brooklyn Nets and trading for Kyrie Irving. However, if that doesn’t happen, they need a plan B on how they will further bolster their roster and return to title contention.
