The Utah Jazz are in search for a new head coach after the decision of Quin Snyder to step down after 8 years.
Several head and assistant coaches have emerged as candidates to take over the team, with the Jazz proceeding to interview stage.
“The Jazz received permission to interview several assistant coaches for head job, including Johnnie Bryant (Knicks), Will Hardy (Celtics), Charles Lee (Bucks), and Joe Mazzulla (Celtics). Jazz assistant Alex Jensen and Terry Stotts will interview too.
Two more candidates expected to interview for Utah’s coaching job, Frank Vogel and Jazz assistant Lamar Skeeter,” Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
Hedgeout.net spoke with NBA expert Ryan Murphy, Managing Editor at Covers (Part 1 of his interview here, Part 2 here), who gave us some inside information on who the frontrunner for the job is.

“Utah’s next head coach could be a familiar face within the organization. Word on the street is that the Jazz are considering New York Knicks Associate Head Coach Johnnie Bryant, a 36-year-old up-and-comer who spent several years in Salt Lake City as a player development assistant and full-fledged assistant.
The former Utes star is well-regarded within the Association and is said to have an especially strong relationship with Donovan Mitchell, a must for any incoming staffer.
Another name to keep an eye on is Terry Stotts. The long-time Blazers coach is eager to return to the sidelines and is also reportedly being targeted by the Charlotte Hornets,” Murphy said.
Despite the long list of candidates, the Jazz are expected to proceed fast with their search and hire the new head coach as soon as possible.
Whoever takes over will need to address the future of Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert, with both superstars getting involved in trade scenarios.
