Mike D’Antoni and Kenny Atkinson have emerged as frontrunners for the head coaching job of the Charlotte Hornets.

This is what Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report writes, adding that none of them has met with Hornets’ principal governor, Michael Jordan.

This should be the final step of the process for Charlotte and could take place immediately after Jordan returns from an out-of-market vacation.

Both head coaches are free agents at the moment and were linked to other NBA teams that were in search for a head coach, including the Sacramento Kings and the Los Angeles Lakers.

However, with the Kings hiring Mike Brown and Darvin Ham taking over the Lakers, Charlotte remains the best option for both coaches.
