Miami Heat are willing to work with PJ Tucker and Victor Oladipo hoping to keep both of them in the team’s roster this offseason, per Miami’s president Pat Riley. Both veterans will be the top priority for the Heat this summer.

Miami secured the top seed in the Eastern Conference during the regular season but they fell short in the playoffs, losing in the conference finals to the Boston Celtics. Tucker signed a two-year deal with the the South Beach franchise last summer.

Pat Riley made it very clear they want to bring the veteran back to the team in 2022-23, while Miami plans to talk to Oladipo’s agent to discuss his future. Oladipo assumed a big role in the postseason after recovering from multiple season-long injuries.

Riley makes clear he wants to keep Tucker. Says Heat to speak to Oladipo agent. On Lowry conditioning: "He definitely is going to have to address that and it will be addressed. I definitely think he can be in better shape. We'll address it and try to help him.” — Barry Jackson (@flasportsbuzz) June 6, 2022

Tucker brought championship experience to the Heat and served as one of their best  wing defenders. He averaged 7.6 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.1 assists in 70 starts while shooting 41% from deep.

Victor Oladipo will be a restricted free agent this summer. While he only played eight games during the season, he assumed a bigger role in the postseason averaging 10.6 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 2.1 assists.

If Oladipo is willing to continue coming off the bench, Miami might be able to retain the former Pacers’ star in the roster. Aside from Oladipo, Riley said the team will have to be pro-active in building the roster for next season.
