Mavs not willing to offer more than $110M to Jalen Brunson

The Dallas Mavericks are willing to offer a lucrative contract to Jalen Brunson, but this will not extent the total of $110M.

This is what Tim MacMahon of ESPN reports, adding that Dallas wants to offer Brunson a deal similar to the one Fred VanVleet has with the Toronto Raptors (4-year, $85M).

As a result, what the Mavs plan to do is re-signing the young guard on a five-year deal, worth a total of $110M ($22M per year).

That price point, per sources: a five-year deal at “more than Fred VanVleet money,” which means about $22M per year or $110M total value. https://t.co/fjAHrfcbQu — Tim MacMahon (@espn_macmahon) June 29, 2022

At the moment, the New York Knicks look like favorites to land him for two reasons. The first one is their ability to offer him more money and the second one is the player’s willingness to move to New York and join the Knicks.

If he signs with New York, Jalen Brunson will also be close to his dad, whom the Knicks hired to be part of Tom Thibodeau’s coaching staff.
